Eat, drink, and save room for dessert. New choices are always popping up, and the temptations never end.

From casual to not quite so casual — Chico’s restaurants are inviting to even the most sophisticated palates. “Local” and “fresh” are the standard on most Chico menus, thanks to our location in the agriculturally rich Central Valley. Our family-friendly lifestyle and slower pace has attracted top chefs from New York and the SF Bay Area to create new dining experiences. Dine at a quaint bistro or wine bar.  For a more lively experience enjoy the gusto at Sierra Nevada Taproom or the bustle at downtown's Burgers and Brew. Our dining scene is one to be explored and enjoyed.

Chico wouldn’t be a California city without a satisfying selection of taco trucks. Other food trucks are constantly popping up at large gatherings, and they circle their wagons once a month for the Fork in the Road food truck event during spring and summer.

Several recognizable hotel chains are located along the freeway and downtown. For a uniquely Chico experience, the Diamond Hotel in downtown Chico was completely rebuilt from the inside out and offers luxurious modern accommodations with a nod to the past. A few bed & breakfast establishments in and around Chico, and the wine-themed   Hotel James, offer more personalized accommodations. Note: reserve rooms early for Chico State’s graduation (mid-May). Hotels are often booked a year in advance for that weekend.
